Some users of the Berkelbike models that have a disability struggle with hills or starting the bike from standstill. That’s when Berkelbike came up with a simple solution, an electric motor that can assist (But not completely take over) with pedaling. With controls on the handlebars, there are different intensities that can be set for assistance with pedaling. It can be setup on any of the recumbent tricycles on offer such as the Berkelbike Pro.
"I've kept myself in good condition using the Berkelbikes FES tech, I have lots of muscle on the legs. I don't get pressure sores and the inbuilt arm cycle means a full body workout. It's a no brainer, I love to get outdoors for a change in scenery"
I think when you do go on the bike, and you do see the muscle tone start returning with them. They start looking a little bit more like a set of legs when you look down on them. Whether it's psychological or not, it makes it a bit easier when you want to wear shorts that's for sure.
